…our skin begins to change in texture, firmness, and even colour. While this is a natural part of getting older, wanting to banish these tell-tale signs of ageing is just natural, with many of us hoping to shave a few years off our face once we reach a certain age.
Skin rejuvenation is a blanket term for any cosmetic treatment that aims to restore a youthful look to the face by rejuvenating the skin. These skin rejuvenation treatments tackle many of the commons signs of ageing such as visible signs of sun damage, brown spots (pigmentation), redness (thread veins), lines and wrinkles, resulting in firmer, smoother, and younger-looking skin.
How the treatment works
Precisely controlled short pulses of light are released that target discolouration such as pigmentation and vascular lesions to create a more youthful, even complexion. In addition, this light results in the stimulation of fibroblast cells, leading to increased production of new collagen and elastin. This improves the texture of the skin, evening out lumps and bumps, whilst reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The skin will be noticeably firmer and tighter.
Skin rejuvenation treatments are the perfect anti-ageing solution, offering noticeable and long-lasting results without turning to cosmetic surgery. An Nd:YAG Laser may be used to target deeper lines and to promote further collagen production.

Am I suitable for treatment?
Treatment is suitable for most people. As skin rejuvenation is based on light absorption by melanin and haemoglobin, treatments are most effective in patients with a lighter skin tone. The lighter the skin and the contrast between the age spots and vascular lesions on the skin, the more affective the treatment. Unfortunately darker skin tones cannot be treated.
How does the treatment feel?
Are there any side effects?
The skin may be quite red and slightly swollen after treatment but this usually subsides quickly. Very rarely a small blister may form and there can be a temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. However, most people experience no side effects and any skin reaction usually disappears within a few hours.
What should I expect after the treatment?
How many treatments are necessary?
Treatments are carried out every two to three weeks and six treatments are recommended for best results. Thereafter, top up sessions are performed as required, but typically once or twice a year.
